The team at NHOP has graciously opened their facility for us to use for our Local Chapter to hold weekly prayer meetings which will begin the week after Vision Night on Thursday’s at 7:30pm starting April 16th.

Please come out and join us, we'll be sharing on who we are as Exodus Cry Canada, outline what we'll be doing and how you can engage with us!

Let Us Begin...

Hey everyone, thanks for taking the time to stop by. Yvonne & I are blessed by your friendship and would like to bring you up to date on what’s happening in this season of life.

Yvonne & I have been on quite a journey the last number of years; we will actually celebrate our 15 year wedding anniversary this June! Being in part-time ministry together for each of those 15 years I can recall a few times when we sensed the Lord making a significant “course change” for our ministry together. The most recent was 7 years ago during our first visit to (IHOP) the International House of Prayer in Kansas City USA, where we overcome with reality of the intimate heart of God, and the urgency of the hour in which we live….expressed through a lifestyle of worship & prayer.

We wrestled for years earlier to find language to express what we sensed we were called to live out, and we found a significant piece of that answer at IHOP. We knew that among other giftings, we were called to serve and provoke the Body of Christ towards a passionate, intentional pursuit to encounter the intimate and lovesick heart of God. This took us out from leading worship in our local church of 10 years, to lay the groundwork with a team of friends to establish Sanctuary House of Prayer in Winnipeg.

Now, with the same clarity and intensity, we believe we have discerned a new “course change” or a next step in the journey (so to speak). Something has apprehended our hearts and is overwhelmingly occupying our attention; a subject very close to the heart of God…the tragedy of the very real and present issue of Human Trafficking & Sex Tourism.

Right now, this minute…young women and small children are being taken from their families and sold into slavery. They are then forced into lives of systematic and ritual sexual abuse.

As a father of 2 beautiful daughters, to imagine this could be happening to girls my daughter's ages produced a response in me that said “This is NOT okay!”.

Most disturbing are the 250,000+ men per year from North America alone who actively engage this industry by travelling to purchase sex from these precious captives. You should know, this is not just happening in places like Cambodia and Thailand….it IS happening right here in Canada....and in YOUR city.

After seeking the Lord with prayer and fasting for the first 7 days of January (and a few significant and startling dreams) I sensed the Lord drawing us deeper into this issue. I contacted a ministry of IHOP in Kansas City called “Exodus Cry”, an engagement ministry prayer & action-network of believers devoted to the ending of Human Trafficking in our generation. Apart from mobilizing a network of intercessors; Exodus Cry is currently fighting slavery in three primary ways: Prevention, Intervention, and After-Care. Last year they were able to orchestrate 14 rescues, bring awareness to tens of thousands, and contribute directly to the restoration of those who have been rescued.

So after a series of emails and phone calls, Yvonne & I have been invited to initiate and facilitate the launching of Exodus Cry Canada. We just arrived back from IHOP over spring break. We spent time with the Exodus Cry Leadership Team to dialogue through the birthing stages and beginnings of this process. Already, here in Ottawa with the few people we’ve shared this with we have 2-3 different groups offer us space in their buildings to begin to start prayer meetings. This shows us that God has gone before us on this and is already providing what we need, before we need it!

We will continue to serve the Lord in the marketplace here in Ottawa, Yvonne with Graphic Design and I with my sales work with Friesens. We believe that the Lord has us divinely placed us in the marketplace here in Ottawa for this season...to serve His purposes for this city. We will begin to develop “Exodus Cry Canada” in our free time, partnering with other local and national ministries, establishing prayer meetings, and speaking wherever invited. We will be documenting and rolling out the details of what that will look like through 2 Blog sites:

www.exoduscry.ca will serve as the main ministry site, documenting how and what we are doing. Stories, facts, prayer points, main info site etc.

www.jasonparks.blogspot.com will be my personal site to journey out, and teach regarding the macro and micro issues of the movement.

Both sites are currently up, please take some time to check them out. Also please make sure to check out the main US Exodus Cry site at www.exoduscry.com, view the various video’s and articles there, take the purity covenant and begin to join us in this journey however the Lord moves you. We will also start a Facebook group for communication as well.

Most important of all, we ask for your prayers. (In the near future we will post some prayer points on how to begin to engage this issue.)

It would be too hard to tell our whole story in one email. We will endeavor to un-pack more details of how all this came about, as we go. However; we enter into this journey soberly, with the fear of the Lord, and with anticipation that we will encounter a greater measure of His heart.

To borrow a piece from one of Mother Teresa’s well known quotes: “Let us begin.”
